INDIANAPOLIS – Indy Urban Acres, an initiative of the Parks Alliance of Indianapolis, is launching their inaugural Flowers that Feed event series presented by Green Loop Marketing this fall.
The three-part series benefits Indy Urban Acres’ organic farm, which works to provide equitable access to free, high-quality produce for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity in Indianapolis.
The first Flowers that Feed event, set for Thursday, August 25 at West Fork Whiskey, sold out quickly. Attendees can join in on September 8 at Indy Urban Acres for a guided farm tour, and again on October 1 for a U-Pick event in the Farm’s sunflower meadow. Attendees will get a lesson in properly preparing a bouquet and enjoy local beverages, leaving with fresh flowers and full heart.
Tyler Gough, Director of Indy Urban Acres said
Indy Urban Acres is committed to stewarding equitable access to an abundance of locally grown, free produce. Programs like the Flowers that Feed series provide a platform to introduce people to our mission while creating beautiful bouquets and becoming champions for our work.
Indy Urban Acres will have bouquets for purchase at the Tinker Coffee location inside the AMP food court until October 1.
Each event is $25 – $30 and includes fresh flowers and a drink.

Lori Hazlett, President and CEO of the Parks Alliance said
The Parks Alliance exists to connect resources to needs to demonstrate the transformational power of parks. Since its creation in 2011, we have been proud to steward support for Indy Urban Acres. The Flowers that Feed series allow us to identify strategic opportunities to generate funding and awareness, and ultimately get more food into the hands of those who need it.
West Fork Whiskey, 8th Day Distillery, YamaLlama, and Tinker Coffee have joined on as community partners and sponsors, while Green Loop Marketing serves as the presenting sponsor.
Each year, Indy Urban Acres harvests and donates nearly 60,000 pounds of fresh produce, equalling 300,000 servings of food. The farm has employed more than 500 teens, hosted more than 11,000 volunteers, and provided farm tours to more than 12,000 students.
